Jascha Narveson has a set of new music as a split bill with composer Kirsten Volness. His half will feature a new piece for Sideband (appearing in quartet form), as well as our all time favorite In Line.

As the first part of our residency/extravaganza begins, the Sidebandits are excited to show some Yale composers what we're all about! We're gearing up for a concert there later in the spring, but first on January 30th we're going to light some fires and blow some minds!

We're opening for ensemble et al's record release party at Spectrum! Florent Ghys will be there kicking up a storm of bass tunes as well. Come join in the fun and frolic! We'll be doing tunes by Jascha Narveson, Konrad Kaczmarek, Alex Dowling, and maybe even a little Dan Trueman (no promises…)

We're celebrating acclaimed pianist/composer Conrad Tao's birthday in style! The birthday boy invited us to split the bill with the amazing violinist/composer Todd Reynolds in this Dumbo hip spot that is a "gallery, boutique, book store, performance, and events space." Sounds too hip to miss, huh?

Sideband feels right at home at Roulette, and we're happy to return with a bunch of tunes from our upcoming album - works by Sidebandits Anne Hege, Konrad Kacmarek, Jascha Narveson, Lainie Fefferman, and Dan Trueman. Also, as a special lovely thing, Amy X Neuburg is writing a guided improvisational piece for us to do with her. She'll also be joining us on Dan Trueman's Clapping Machine Music Variations. Sideband loves making music with friends!

We join the radiant Kathleen Supové on her faculty recital at Mannes with pieces written by us that feature her piano prowess. Music by Michael Early, Konrad Kaczmarek, Jascha Narveson, and Dan Trueman. Also featured will be 2 pieces from Supové's Debussy project - new works by Matt Marks and Randall Wolff.

We were thrilled to be joined in our set by festival curator Kathleen Supové! We also loved sharing the bill with Doron Sadja.

We're thrilled to be the featured invited ensemble at this conference (the first of its kind!) and we'll be playing pieces by Sidebandits (Michael Early, Anne Hege, Jascha Narveson, Jeff Snyder, and Dan Trueman) and honored guests (Stephen Beck, Alex Dowling, Paula Matthusen, and Butch Rovan).

We're honored to be an invited ensemble at the concert for this conference on the intersection of music, cognition, creativity, and computation. We'll be playing a piece by Sidebandit Dan Trueman, with additional works TBA.

We're going to play some old favorites by Sidebandit Jascha Narveson, as well as a great new tune by wild Irishman Alex Dowling. The event, a yearly concert-bazaar of the New York new music community, runs from 4pm-midnight and should offer plentiful amounts of sonic and edible deliciousness! $5 Brooklyn Brewery beer provided.
